Periodically, our employees volunteer for charitable activities and coordinate fundraising events to support local organizations. These are creative, fun-focused affairs and parties with a purpose that always draw a crowd. As a Community Gives participant, you’re always invited!
Here’s a look at some of our past fundraising events and initiatives:
Bux Back partnering with Susan G. Komen for the Cure Fundraiser: The San Diego Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is dedicated to combating breast cancer at every front. This event gave guests several fun ways to raise money for the foundation, including a mermaid in the pool!
Vintage Prom: This event, held in May 2010 and 2011, was a benefit for the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation. Guests dressed to the nines and danced the night away for this special themed celebration—a throwback from everyone’s youth, featuring music from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. In 2011 this event raised approximately $3,500.00
Ping Pong Social: This annual event is held in April each year and our 5th Annual event this year raised over $12,000.00. It includes the fun of a ping pong tournament, poolside social and silent auction. All proceeds from the silent auction and tournament went directly to the School of Business at San Diego High School, to help its hard-working students fund their senior trip to New York City.
Water is essential to our lives, and to our planet.
At Eat at the Pearl, we encourage the use of pure, sustainable products. We invite you to enjoy our naturally purified water from nearby Palomar Mountain, bottled in our own Community brand sustainable glass bottles.
$1.00 from each sale is donated to a clean water program in Ghana, Project MIM.
Community is a sister brand of The Pearl Hotel and strives to knock down barriers and support local efforts to create a stronger sense of civic unity.
The mission statement of the Community brand of properties states, “We seek to participate in the traditions of and enhance the quality of life in the communities where we invest.” This desire to serve and give back to San Diego, inspired us to create Community Gives, a monthly, $1.00 opt-in, charitable giving program open to Community’s residential and commercial tenants, as well as to patrons of L.W.P. Group hospitality ventures.
Your $1.00 contribution and those of all participants will be collected monthly and matched in full by L.W.P. Group, Inc. All donations, and our matching contribution, will support San Diego-area organizations focused on:
- Youth and education
- Health and wellness
- Environmental sustainability
- Smart growth and development
These types of organizations highlight areas crucial to the growth of great, modern communities. They inspire us on a daily basis, and Community Gives represents our way of acknowledging and furthering their good work. We hope you will join us in this exciting endeavor.
ARTS is in our hearts and everywhere at The Pearl, for that matter. Each of our guest rooms features a framed piece of art created by a child involved in ARTS – A Reason to Survive! ARTS is a San Diego-based non-profit organization dedicated to bringing hope, healing, and self confidence to the lives of children and youth facing adversities by providing expressive opportunities through the visual, performing and literary arts.
ARTS is entirely dependent on donations for its operation and maintenance. The Pearl Hotel supports ARTS, and encourages you, our guests, to embrace this worthy cause and experience the same joy and reward. You can assist ARTS by:
